The United Nations Development of Sport, Music and the Arts (UNDSMA) is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Mr. Charbel Younan as Peace Ambassador for Cyprus This appointment has been formally issued and endorsed by Mr. Alain Khoueiry, on behalf of UNDSMA leadership.
Mr. Charbel Younan brings over 20 years of distinguished international experience across business leadership, media, and humanitarian engagement. An accomplished entrepreneur and executive, he is the Founder and CEO of Lozanuts, an internationally distributed brand operating across 12 countries. He has also held senior leadership roles in media and broadcasting, including CEO of Partner Media Group in Dubai, where he delivered large-scale regional projects and award-winning productions.
In addition to his commercial success, Mr. Younan has demonstrated a strong commitment to global peace and human rights. He currently serves as a Human Rights Ambassador and General Secretary of the World Human Rights and Peace Al Mawada Organization (France), actively contributing to international advocacy and cooperation initiatives. 
His multidisciplinary background, international network, and dedication to peacebuilding make him exceptionally well suited for this role.
As UNDSMA Peace Ambassador for Cyprus, Mr. Younan will play a central role in advancing peace, cultural diplomacy, and international goodwill through the unifying platforms of sport, music, and the arts. His appointment reflects a commitment to fostering meaningful connections between communities, promoting shared values, and positioning Cyprus as a vibrant centre for cultural exchange and cooperation on the global stage.
In his capacity as ambassador, Mr. Younan will represent UNDSMA at both national and international events, strengthening the organisation’s presence and influence while promoting Cyprus as a hub for intercultural dialogue. He will actively work to build bridges between diverse communities, encouraging collaboration and understanding through cultural diplomacy and strategic partnerships.
A key focus of his role will be the development and support of peace-driven sporting initiatives. Through inclusive events and youth engagement programmes, Mr. Younan will promote sport as a powerful tool for unity and social cohesion.
In parallel, Mr. Younan will lead and support initiatives in music and the arts, recognising their unique ability to transcend boundaries and communicate shared human experiences. By curating concerts, exhibitions, and creative programmes, he will empower young people and underrepresented communities, using artistic expression as a platform to promote dialogue, inclusion, and peace.
His work will also extend deeply into community engagement, collaborating with NGOs, educational institutions, and local organisations to deliver grassroots initiatives that foster inclusion and mutual respect. Through these efforts, he will help cultivate a culture of peace at the community level, ensuring that impact is both meaningful and sustainable.
On the international stage, Mr. Younan will play a vital role in building partnerships across Europe and beyond, representing Cyprus in UNDSMA-led programmes and facilitating cross-border initiatives. His work will contribute to strengthening global cooperation and advancing shared efforts to promote peace through sport, music, and the arts.
This appointment reflects UNDSMA’s commitment to building a global network of credible leaders dedicated to promoting peace through cultural connection, youth engagement, and creative expression.
